Archived Wendy News 2003

Wendy will be performing one show only prior to Christmas. Wendy will perform at the Twin Towns Services Club at Tweed Heads, on Saturday December 13th 2003. Tickets are $22 from the venue. Please see Tour Dates page for more info! We would like to extend our best wishes to everyone for a happy and safe festive season! We look forward to 2004 as Wendy prepares to release her 8th album in the first quarter of the new year!

September 2003

Wendy performed two sell-out shows at Lizotte's Restaurant at Ettalong Beach Club on July 25th & 26th. Both shows went extremely well. Wendy delighted the crowd with some of her well known tunes as well as previewing some new material. The new songs were superb and included Wendy's version of Linda Rondstadt's brilliant ballad, "Prisoner in Disguise". As both shows were received so well, Wendy was again invited to return for encore shows at a later date. Watch this space for further info.

Wendy is currently meeting with songwriters in the US to work on songs for her upcoming album. She will then be off to Canada to visit her family. After her overseas break, Wendy will return next month to start work on the album. We will keep you informed as to how things progress in the coming months.

June 2003

Wendy was asked to sing at the wedding of friend Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer on 7th April 2003. Wendy was accompanied by a pianist and sang a few of her favourite songs such as "Nobody but You" and "Beautiful View" at the reception. Russell called Wendy a couple of days before the wedding and asked her to sing "The Water is Wide" aCappella style at the ceremony. Wendy said it all went very well and the wedding was just beautiful.

March 2003

Wendy is currently taking some time out to record her next album due out later in 2003. She will not be performing any new shows until the album is closer to release. February 2003

Wendy performed three shows as part of the "Taronga Zoo Tower Twilight" concert series on February 7, 8 & 9th. Wendy delighted the sell-out crowds with songs from her latest album "Beautiful View" along with some of her favourite hits, "Woman's Gotta Have It", "Token Angels" and "The Day You Went Away".
Wendy also sang a couple of brand new tunes, which will hopefully find their way onto Wendy's forthcoming eighth album. Wendy had a wonderful time at the Taronga Zoo shows and thanks go to the many fans who purchased her album over the three nights and waited patiently in line for Wendy to sign them too!

July 2003

Wendy will be releasing her very first DVD just in time for Christmas! The "Stepping Stones" DVD contains Wendy's video clips from the "Stepping Stones" collection through to "Beautiful View". As a special bonus, the DVD also features Wendy's Sydney Opera House concert from October 1993, as well as Wendy's "Beautiful View" interview where Wendy chats about her career to date. This special DVD package will be in stores on November 10th 2003. (click on the cover pic for DVD track listing information)

Wendy has recorded a duet with rocker turned crooner Rod Stewart. The Rodgers & Hart composition called "My Heart Stood Still", has previously been recorded by Frank Sinatra as well as the Supremes. Wendy's duet with Rod is from his brand new album "As Time Goes By - The Great American Songbook Volume II" to be released in Australia on October 27th 2003. Others artists on the album with Rod include; Cher and Queen Latifah.

Wendy is currently recording demo tracks for her new album. The upcoming eighth album is now set for release early in 2004 all going to plan. Wendy is likely to be performing a couple of shows just prior to Christmas. All show details will be posted here as soon as they are announced.
